Operating Procedures

  • Once mattress is fully inflated, place patient on to the mattress. Allow the system to run a full cycle (10 min.).
  • Adjust the comfort control knob to the patient’s desired level.
  • A hand check can be performed by placing your hand under the patient on a deflated bladder. Make sure the patient is not touching the base of the bed. If this occurs      increase the output by turning the control dial higher.
  • In the event of cardiac arrest, twist the  CPR Valve to the open position to release air in the mid torso section. It will take less than 10 seconds to deflate.

Cleaning and Laundering Procedures

  • Disconnect power cord from electrical outlet.
  • The mattress can be wiped down between patients using hospital detergent or a mixture of two ounces of bleach per one gallon of water
  • For laundering remove cover by unzipping both sides. Wash for at least 15-20 minutes in the gentle cycle.
  • Tumble dry at very low or no heat
  • Individual bladders can be washed as well but must be capped with part #8E0010 to restrict water entering the bladder.

Disassembling the System

  • Unplug Pump from electrical outlet.
  • Disconnect mattress hoses from pump.
  • Turn Handle on CPR Valve to release air.
  • Insert orange deflator into the CPR Valve and evacuate air until mattress is totally flat.
  • Tuck hoses in mattress and roll it to fit into carry bag.
