Pressure ulcers are painful, present an opportunity for a dangerous infection to occur and are very costly to treat. Prevention is key however, once a pressure ulcer occurs, alternating pressure is the therapy most recommended for healing and prevention of reoccurrence.  

The 9700GR is used for the prevention and treatment of stages I - IV pressure ulcers. The unique Chair-Air™ geri chair alternating pressure recliner overlay is ideal for patients who are at higher risk for developing pressure sores or who have already developed a pressure ulcer. Made specially for those who spend an extended amount of time in a geri chair or a high backed wheelchair.  The 9700GR Alternating Pressure Recliner Overlay fits most existing Geri-Chair cushions to create a therapeutic seating surface.

Pressure ulcers can occur when the interface pressure between the skin and the seating surface prevent proper blood flow. Twenty alternating pressure 3.5" bladders gently alternate to lower interface pressures in addition to comfortably supporting the patient. The bladders are of varying size to contour to the body and provide proper full body comfort, pressure redistribution and support where it is needed most. The Chair-Air™ 9700GR alternating pressure recliner mattress system includes the 9701 alternating pump. The portable Chair-Air™ AC/DC Pump allows your patient to be totally mobile. A rechargeable battery backup keeps this system working up to 6 hours per charge, based on the patient’s weight.

The 9700GR is covered in Vyvex-III™, a low shear, zippered multi-stretch, moisture / vapor permeable top cover, non-skid bottom. The cover is anti-microbial and can easily be wiped clean. Cover meets stringent California Technical Bulletin #117 for fire retardancy.
