Apollo 3 Port™ Alternating Pressure Mattress with Low Air Loss – Blue Chip Medical
The Apollo 3 Port™ Alternating Pressure Mattress with Low Air Loss provides pressure redistribution for the prevention and treatment of Stages I-IV pressure ulcers. User friendly controls and ease of setup make Apollo 3 Port™ ideal for home bound use. The cover is loose fitting and will conform to the body. The mattress was designed to fit all standard hospital beds. Apollo 3 Port™ alternating pressure mattress supports patients weighing up to 350 lbs.
Bladders:
The Apollo 3 Port™ Alternating Pressure Mattress with low air loss utilizes 18 independent 8″ deep ventilated low air loss bladders which include lasered air holes in the sacral and torso areas to help minimize skin maceration by reducing excess moisture under patient. Ventilated bladders help in the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers. Air cells are constructed of laminated medical grade nylon and (TPU) thermal polyurethane fabrics. This combination ensures strength, durability and patient comfort.
Cover:
Vyvex III™ multi-directional stretch fabric transfers moisture away from the patient’s skin. The cover is low shear, washable, anti-microbial, fluid resistant and fire retardant. Cover is loose fitting and will conform to the patient.
CPR Valve:
CPR Valve quickly deflates alternating pressure mattress system for medical emergencies. A simple twist releases the air immediately. This multi-purpose CPR Valve can be used to inflate or deflate the mattress with our optional blower pump.
Pump Control Unit Features:
Unique 3 Port design provides continuous air flow to the 3″ static air base of mattress.
- Alternating mode offers the benefit of alternating pressure therapy and reactive hyperemia. This helps to redistribute pressure well below 32mmHg.
- Control dial adjusts mattress from soft to firm for patient comfort.
- Normal Pressure Alert indicates that system is operating correctly.
- Low Pressure Alert indicates that output needs to be increased for heavier patients or accidental disconnection of hoses.
- Adjustable Pump comes with adjustable hanger brackets to secure unit to bed.
- Fits all makes of hospital beds.
Transport locking device:
Ensures mattress remains inflated during a power outage or for patient transport. Reinforced hoses prevent air restriction due to kinking. The optional blower pump can inflate or deflate the mattress through the multi-purpose CPR valve in under four minutes. This reduces waiting time for therapeutic treatment to begin.
Fire Safety:
Apollo 3 Port™ meets California Technical Bulletin #117 for fire retardancy. An optional fire barrier is available to meet the most stringent fire safety requirements when requested.
Optional Heel Section:
4 bladder heel section provides advanced dynamic therapy specific to the prevention and treatment of heel ulcers.
Optional Patient Safety System:
4600-SRS Foam Side Rail Safety System. Helps to prevent accidental falls
Optional Blower Pump:
Quickly inflates and deflates mattress through CPR valve in under 4 minutes.

Jeff created a custom alternating pressure mattress for a 54" double bed. I was using an alternating pressure pad with pump. The alternating pressure pads are plastic and cause sweating and, for me, insomnia. The Apollo 3 Port alternating pressure low air loss mattress relieves sweating due to the cooler nature of fabric and the air flow through the mattress.

I was on a (_ _ _ _ _) alternating pressure mattress for 4 months. It seemed like it was working but I have recurring staged pressure sores that were not healing. My care giver said that they had issues with the (_ _ _ _ _) and that it was replaced with an Apollo 3 Port. I called a few places and no one knew anything about the product or how it worked. All they could tell me was what was in the catalog, like I was not able to read it for myself. Then I called Jeff at Comfort's Best who knew everything about the product. He was very patient and I decided to purchase from him. The system was delivered within 2 days and my care giver set it up quickly. Let me state the obvious, insurance companies stink. After months of fighting they finally sent in a mattress....a piece of garbage. It was horrible and my skin kept breaking down.They sent in another mattress and it kept breaking down. I sent it in for repair and the company said it had a bunch of leaks. It did not make sense. I had enough and did research and spoke with Jeff. He is very knowledgable and took the time to explain everything. I bought the Apollo and it is night and day difference. Mattress is high quality, pumps are quiet and my skin is better. I paid less for the new Apollo than for the used crud mattress the dealer wanted to sell me. My Mom is in a nursing home. I did not care for the mattress that they had her on and her Doctor recommended that I get an Alternating Pressure Mattress with low air loss. I looked at a bunch of them out there but they were cheaply made and didn't have as many features. So I decided to buy this one and boy, have I made the right decision. First, the man that I spoke to seemed to really know the product and understand my Mom's condition. That was really important to me. I wasn't just getting some sale rep on the other end of the phone just looking to make a sale. He took care of me and spent time with me on the phone, making sure that I was getting the right product for my Mom.
The mattress came quickly and my Mom is much more comfortable. She was only at the very beginning of getting one pressure sore which was Stage 2, so we caught it in time. The mattress healed her pressure sore. This mattress will prevent her from getting any more sores in the future and I am so relieved.
