Gel Coccyx Cushion
The Coccyx bone, located at the bottom of the spine is the remnant of a tail. Also known as the tailbone, it still performs important functions as an attachment point for various muscles, tendons and ligaments. This makes the tailbone very important to help provide support while sitting. Pain, bruises and breaks can come from the trauma of a fall or discomfort from simply sitting on a hard surface for too long. Women are five times more likely to experience tailbone pain than men.
The fluidized gel and foam coccyx wheelchair cushion features a coccyx cutout that redistributes pressure at the sacral area while offering patient comfort and even distribution of weight. Made in the U.S. by Blue Chip Medical Products, Our GEL coccyx cushion is constructed with a fluidized pressure redistribution gel bladder encapsulated in Certipur certified foam. The fluidized gel bladder that is covered in a Vyvex-I, anti-bacterial, anti-microbial cover that is fluid resistant and low shear. The wipes clean easily. Supports 250 lbs.
The gel coccyx cushion is available in many sizes and can be made to support weights in excess of 350 lbs.
